Mobile, internet and data in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Staying connected can be an important part of travelling. Here are our tips for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

  • We used a roaming plan offered by our home mobile provider. This was an easy way to get online from when we first landed in BiH.

  • We found mobile reception to be excellent throughout BiH. Data speeds were also good, and we had no issues connecting to local networks.

  • BiH isn’t part of the EU, so a lot of SIM cards from other countries won’t have roaming included. However, SIM cards are widely available at a low cost once you arrive in BiH and can be purchased from places including supermarkets and news stands.

  • If you don’t want to use mobile data, we found wifi was widely available and of a good speed. Every hotel we stayed in had wifi, along with many restaurants, cafes, bars and tourist locations.
